On October 1, 2016 join 250 young leaders from across Chicago at the NextGen Illinois Convening to share stories, participate in trainings, and form new relationships. See how young people can be a force for change in Illinois.
With Illinois politics notoriously marred in corruption scandals and record political spending keeping young people out of important decisions, we have a responsibility to rewrite the rules and create real reform. Young people ages 14-34 are invited to join this half day convention which includes trainings on policy, organizing, and communications and conversation on resisting gentrification, climate change in Illinois, how to wield power in politics, and voter accessibility.
Participants will have the chance to meet national and community organizations that work on a variety of topics – from voter access to civil/human rights to policy writing and media training. For a full list of participating organizations visit www.nextgenil.org.
